Ford Kuga (2008-) Review

Category: Small 4x4s 4 out of 5

Summary of the Ford Kuga (2008-)

Price Range: £20,900 to £22,900

Assets

Great to drive, practical interior, class-leading emissions, fine residuals.

Drawbacks

Bland looks, rear headroom tight with panoramic roof.

Verdict

Kuga may not be the most visually appealing 4x4, but under the skin it's one of the best.

Ford Kuga Review

Running Costs5 out of 5

The backlash 'Chelsea Tractors' continues so Ford has been careful to to make sure the Kuga is not tarred with the same brush. Ford claims the Kuga (in diesel form) has the lowest carbon dioxide emissions in its class. The Kuga emits 169g/km of CO2 and that puts it into the VED band E: undercutting Honda's CR-V by one band. It's not to thirsty either, averaging 44.1mpg. Factor in some of the lowest residuals in the class (see Used values) and you have a strong contender for the lowest running costs in the business. That is, until the even lower CO2 Bluemotion Volkswagen Tiguan arrives.
